We are looking for a Quality Control Technician for our customer a food manufacturer located in North York.
Job functions (include but not limited to)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform various in-line quality control checks (e.g.: weight, shape, size, colour)
• Review of production records, quality records and training records for accuracy.
• Perform data entry and record keeping
• Regular filing and document management.
• Examine ingredients or finished products to ensure conformance to company standards.
• Check products and packaging for basic quality defects, verify accuracy and completeness of data.
• Take samples of products at various stages of processing, proof and /or bake and perform sensory evaluation.
• Conduct GMP & Pre-Op inspection, food safety and security audits and assist in the development of food safety, quality and security management and standards.
• Ensure personal hygiene and sanitation practices conform to policies and regulations.
• Assist with product specifications at an interval that assures compliance with all regulatory and customer requirements.
• Maintain quality records and date in a way that allows for an efficient flow of information to senior plant management and customers.
• Prepare for and participate as needed in customer and regulatory audits to ensure superior audit scores and compliance with all regulatory and customer requirements. Superior audits help maintain or gain approved supplier status with customers.
• Ensure effective gathering of information and documents related to any investigations, root cause analysis, risk assessments and implementation of corrective and preventive actions to the adhered timelines while following up through various methods including trending to ensure all corrective and preventive actions were implemented effectively.
• Communicate quality information to any Supervisor or Manager on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis through reports, meetings and presentations as required. Provide plant management data that is accurate of the company performance in food safety, quality & security.
lab specific skills
• Knowledge of HACCP, GFSI, FSMA, CFIA , FDA food regulations
• Adhere to all good manufacturing practices, food safety and sanitation guideline
• Strong communication skills – written and verbal
• Strong Computer skills proficient at Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of statistical and analytical problem-solving procedures preferred.
• Working in a fast paced, hot environment, ability to multitask, proficient in ms office
Please note that this position require the worker to be flexible to work in the different shifts morning, afternoon or midnight depending on the production requirements.
